IMAGE: Drop the survey WBIR; You are showing that you're behind the times

“To help us keep wbir.com available to all users free of charge, please answer the following questions.” Seriously? When I can get my news from Knox’d, Knoxnews, WATE, Oak Ridger or any other local outlet, why would I take the time to fill out a survey for WBIR?

Stop telling everyone how to churn butter and learn how to utilize your user registration system more efficiently.

In addition, I’ve been thoroughly unimpressed by their “redesign.” All of the site’s disparate design elements work together to present a unified front of distraction. Anytime I happen to click there, it takes a second for me to gather my senses so that I’m able to click away to “greener pastures.”

Ah, the joys of incremental data collection. This is a system similar to the one used by washingtonpost.com and oregonlive.com. Both are annoying as hell, but I understand the premise (get information without the user actually registering).

The sad thing is they don’t offer the user any information about how their data will be used.
